11.15.22     Let Go

Did you know that the Cross is all about letting go?  God the Father is all about letting go? A majority of counseling and life issues are all about letting go?  All of these statements are true and once we can take in the reality of these truths, our lives will become more internally peaceful and stable.

One extremely important verse in the Bible concerning this is found in Matthew 6:14-15 :

"IF you forgive men when they sin (offend) you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins (offenses), your Father (in heaven) will not forgive your sins."

Ephesians 4:32  "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Colossians 3:13  "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord for gave you."

Forgiveness does not mean we forget but that we let go of the "right" to hang onto the offense and to get even.  Forgiveness does not always mean this person who offended you is safe for you to be around but it does mean you let go of wishing any evil will upon them or that you continue to talk bad about them. Let go and let God deal with them.  Think about it. Each and everyone of us has wronged someone at some time in our life, intentionally or unintentionally. And it is a simple fact that we need heavenly Father's forgiveness between us and him every single day. We offend him in our thoughts, our speech, and our actions. I am grateful he sees us through the sacrifice of forgiveness his son Jesus made on the Cross.

Think about it. What kind of life do you want?  I want one filled with internal peace and unblocked answers to prayers, with the mercy and goodness of God weaving throughout my spirit and life, no matter what is happening externally.

Check out verses concerning forgiveness towards others, of ourselves, the work on the Cross. You simply cannot love Christ and not be wise to forgive and let go. Lets grow up, become mature in Christ, stop fussing and squabbling and offending. Amen.

Heavenly Father, bring to our remembrance of sacrifice that Jesus went through on the Cross to submit a blood sacrifice for our sins, individually and collectively. Let us be mindful of not taking on any offenses and not putting out any. Help us to remember we are all human and have stressful and bad days, hurts and wounds that cannot be seen, and how we would like to be treated as well. Give us wisdom to know when to truly forgive and to walk away, knowing that person or situation is not healthy for us. We desire to be free and healthy in mind, body, soul, and spirit.   Amen

What do you mean?

"What do you mean?"
We seem to have a big problem among Christians these days.  We say one thing, mean another, and do something else!  This is a mess and it certainly reflects badly on God's Church. We are Christ's ambassadors and every thing we say reflects on Him. We, Christians, just don't seem to think that it matters.
It does matter. It is lying and deceitful.
How many times have you been disappointed by believing what someone told you they would do? How many times has this taken your life off course, cost you more money, ruined trust and faith in you?  I think it is time that the Church wakes up and begins to think before she speaks and promises, and then do what she says she will do. Yes, there are times we really mean what we say and have full intent of doing what we say, and then LIFE gets in the way and we are truly unable to complete what we promised.  I think we all understand that and can relate to that. It is how we follow up with it. It is doing what is honorable and right, making amends. It is a problem with communication and integrity.
Do you communicate well? Do you call people and tell them you are unable to do what you said but you will do what you said at another time? And then do you follow through?
Through the course of my Christian life of the last 4o years, I have been disappointed, hurt, betrayed, and lied to by other Christian believers who just cannot do what they said they would. They will not keep integrity within them- selves to follow through with their word at another time. Integrity is doing what you say you will do.  Communication is paramount. These then become careless and thoughtless words. It does not matter what you said, it matters what you do with what you said or promised.
Listen Church, the world is watching us; the world is listening to us. You represent Christ, the King of Kings, the Kingdom of God. ACT like it. Let your words line up with God's Word, and let your actions line up with both.
The words you give to others will affect your life as well. You will be accountable to your words. You will prosper or not prosper by the flavor of your words. What you give out to others will be given back to you.
So, if you want truth in your life, speak truth kindly to others. If you want trust in your life, show yourself trustworthy, if your want faith in your life, be faithful. if you want honesty and integrity in your life, allow them to flourish in your mouth to others.
God is not mocked. What you "seed" out you will get a harvest of it back in your own life.  Christian businesses listen up. This will make or break your reputation, your business, your prosperity, your life. If you do not listen, your businesses will fail and frustration will be your ruin.

New International Version:
Galatians 6:7, 10  "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."   "Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
2 Corinthians 8:21  "For we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man."
Luke 6:31    "And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them."
Matthew 12:36-37  "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Let us therefore, "say what we mean and mean what we say" - from now on!
